As the capital of Wales, you would expect there to be a wealth of things to see and do in Cardiff. There are plenty of theatres, restaurants and museums to keep you busy but if you had to narrow it down to just 4 things to do what would you choose? We’ve created a mini Cardiff sightseeing list just for you.

  1. Cardiff Castle

No visit to Cardiff would be complete without a visit to the castle. Situated right in the city centre, this eleventh century fortress is a grand sight to behold. A ticket inside gets you into the impressive grounds, interactive exhibits, the Battlement Walk and bomb shelters used in the second world war. Definitely worth a visit!

  1. Cardiff Bay

Cardiff Bay is Europe’s largest waterfront development and boasts restaurants, bars, comedy clubs and iconic buildings such as Pierhead and the Norwegian Church. And that’s just on land! The bay also offers guided boat tours from Mermaid Quay and Penarth Barrage which typically last around 45 minutes which are highly recommended.

  1. Cardiff International White Water Centre

Now this third Cardiff sightseeing destination is definitely one for the more adventurous of you out there! The centre hosts all kinds of sports including canoeing and surfing and offers the only white water rafting course in South Wales. And do not worry if you are not one for getting wet, there’s a great viewing area for family and friends to watch.

4. Principality Stadium

Finally, come and explore the Principality Stadium, one of the biggest stadiums in the UK, and home to the Welsh Rugby Union. Tours are done daily!
